Trex Installation Guides & Product Resources

Find official Trex installation guides, hidden fastener instructions, care information, and product warranties in one place. B&B has organized these resources to help Hampton Roads homeowners discuss materials and installation details with their builder.

Choose the document that matches your product.

Decking, framing, fasteners, and railing need to be identified separately. These links open manufacturer-hosted digital documents; many use Trex’s online document reader. PDF download availability depends on the reader. Check Trex’s resource center for updates and for products not listed here.

How to use this library

  1. Identify the products in your proposal. Write down the decking family, board profile, framing material, fastener system, and railing model.
  2. Open the matching instructions. A hidden-fastener guide and a plug guide serve different applications. Ask your builder which documents apply to your layout.
  3. Discuss the covered work. Use our Trex deck homeowner checklist to ask about the frame, house connection, drainage, and construction photos.
  4. Keep your records. Save the applicable documents with your proposal, product details, and progress photos. Recheck manufacturer guidance when planning later work.

Manufacturer instructions and B&B construction details

Trex’s documents address its products. B&B’s new deck builds currently include raised concrete piers with standoff post bases, stone beneath the deck, joist tape, and construction progress photos. Those included practices are separate from Trex’s product instructions. The project still needs suitable foundation design, connections, drainage, and applicable inspections.

Explore our composite-deck construction approach or discuss your project with B&B.

More help choosing the right resource

This library is a selected collection, not the full Trex catalog. For X-Series railing, steel railing, other Select configurations, early-generation decking, lighting, or RainEscape, use the product-specific documents in the official resource center.

Trex product warranties and a contractor’s workmanship coverage are separate. Use the actual terms for the products and project you are considering; a link in this library does not establish coverage or eligibility.

For plain-language explanations of the construction details, visit B&B’s deck fastener guide, joist tape guide, and complete deck resource hub.

Document links checked October 2, 2026 against the United States Trex resource center. Trex owns the linked manufacturer materials. B&B’s introductions help you navigate them; they do not replace the current product instructions or project requirements.
