Driveway grading corrects the shape of the surface so water moves away from the driving path instead of creating ruts, potholes and washed out gravel.
Grading comes before more gravel
Adding stone to a badly shaped driveway can hide the problem for a short time, but it rarely fixes it. If water is running straight down the tire tracks or collecting near the garage, the driveway needs grade correction before the surface is topped.
Crown and slope
We shape the driveway so water has a path off the surface instead of sitting in the travel lane.
Low area correction
Soft spots and dips are addressed before new stone is added.
Runoff control
If runoff is coming from the yard, roof line or driveway entrance, we can plan drainage work with the grading.
